Terms of Service

Effective 25 August 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Thresholdio Pte. Ltd. (UEN 202613340M), 11 Keppel Bay Drive, #01-17, Singapore 098017 ("we", "us"), governing your use of the thecomp app and the thecomp.app website (together, "thecomp").

By creating an account or using thecomp, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use thecomp.

1. Who may use thecomp

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use thecomp only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

You must provide accurate information and keep your account secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.

2. What thecomp is

thecomp is a tool for organising and recording sporting competitions — leagues, tournaments and individual matches. It records scores, calculates results according to the format and rules selected, and maintains standings and records.

thecomp is a record-keeping tool. It is not a governing body, a handicapping authority, a bookmaker, or a payment service.

3. Organisers and members

Some users act as organisers — they create leagues, add members to rosters, configure competitions, record results and maintain the Ledger.

If you are an organiser, you agree that:

  • You have a proper basis for entering another person's personal details, and you have told them you are doing so.
  • You will enter accurate information and correct it when asked.
  • You control whether your league appears on a public web page and which member details are shown there. You are responsible for that decision, including for any member who is under 18.
  • You will respond to a member who asks you to correct or remove their details, and you will pass on to us any request you cannot handle yourself.
  • You will not use member contact details for anything unrelated to running the league.

As between you and us, an organiser is responsible for the personal data they enter about other people and for how they choose to publish it. We provide the controls; the organiser decides how to use them.

If you are a member and want your details corrected or removed, contact your organiser first, or contact us at support@thecomp.app.

4. The Ledger

The Ledger records amounts owed between members and their league — entry fees, fines, merchandise, prize pools and similar.

No money passes through thecomp. We do not hold, transfer, process or escrow funds. We do not collect payment on an organiser's behalf. A Ledger entry is a record that someone has said an amount is owed; it is not a payment, an invoice we issue, or a debt owed to us.

Any disagreement about an amount, a fine, a prize or a settlement is between the people involved and their league. We are not a party to it and will not arbitrate it. We may correct a technical fault in how an amount was recorded or calculated; we will not decide who is right.

Side games such as skins, banker and Nassau work the same way — thecomp calculates running totals, and settlement happens between players outside the app.

5. Results, handicaps and scoring

thecomp calculates scores, handicaps, allowances and standings according to the format and settings selected.

These calculations have no official standing. thecomp is not affiliated with any handicapping system or governing body, and a handicap held in thecomp is not an official handicap unless a governing body separately says so. Do not rely on thecomp for anything requiring an officially recognised record.

We aim for accuracy and will fix errors we find, but results depend on what organisers and players enter. We are not responsible for a result that is wrong because the inputs were wrong.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of what you upload — photos, names, notes and similar.

You give us permission to store, display and transmit that content so we can run thecomp, including displaying it to other members of your league and, where your organiser has enabled a public page, to visitors of that page. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies already distributed and records we retain as described in the Privacy Policy.

You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Upload content that is unlawful, abusive, harassing, obscene, or infringing.
  • Impersonate another person, or enter false details about someone else.
  • Use another person's contact details for spam or marketing.
  • Attempt to access data belonging to leagues you are not a member of.
  • Interfere with, probe or overload the service, or attempt to circumvent its security or access controls.
  • Use automated means to extract data from thecomp.

If you see content that breaches these terms, contact support@thecomp.app. We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach them.

8. Availability

We aim to keep thecomp available and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change, suspend or withdraw features. Where a change is material and we can give notice, we will.

thecomp depends on your device and network. Scores entered without a connection sync when connectivity returns, and we cannot guarantee data entered offline in every circumstance.

9. Paid plans

Some features may be offered on a paid subscription. If you subscribe:

  • Payment is taken and managed by Google Play or the App Store, under their terms. We do not receive or hold your payment details.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. Cancel through the store you subscribed with.
  • Refunds are governed by that store's policies.
  • Joining a league, entering scores and viewing results and standings are free and will remain free to players.

10. Ending your use

You may stop using thecomp and delete your account at any time — see the Privacy Policy for how, and for what happens to your records.

We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, or if we need to for legal or security reasons. Where practical we will tell you why.

If your account ends, competition records and Ledger entries in leagues you belonged to are retained under a placeholder name, as described in the Privacy Policy, so other members' records stay accurate.

11. Disclaimers and liability

thecomp is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or any dispute between members of a league — including disputes over results, prizes, fines or amounts recorded in the Ledger.

Our total liability to you for any claim relating to thecomp is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or SGD 100.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the updated version and change the effective date. If a change is material we will tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use thecomp after a change means you accept it.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction, except where the law where you live gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.
